Boating accidents can happen at any time in Florida

Because Florida is warm year-round, people will often take the water in a variety of different ways. One of the most popular is to go out on a boat. While this is an enjoyable activity for family and friends, there are inherent dangers with it even if it is a commercial boat with an experienced operator. When there is a boat crash, there can be injuries and fatalities. Having legal assistance that is fully aware of how to pursue compensation in a personal injury case after a boating accident is crucial to cover for all that was lost whether there were injuries or a wrongful death.

An airboat owned by a company that provides rides for people crashed and sent nine of the 15 people onboard to the hospital. The accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. The total number of injured people was not known. Two of the passengers were children. First it was believed that nearly all suffered injuries, but it was not clear if that was the case. On this type of boat, people were seated in rows with the boat's driver in the back. The bumper had damage when the boat was taken from the water. According to the manager of the company, the steering cable on the airboat broke. When the boat crashed, the passengers went forward. The people were not ejected and there is not believed to have been operator error. Two people were injured critically.

People on a boat will be expected to have safety procedures adhered to similarly as there are in a car, an aircraft or any other vehicle. When there is an accident, there can be significant injuries and death. This can cause a long hospital stay, lost wages, the need for care and more. Since a boat accident will obviously happen in the water, there is a chance that people can drown. Whether there are broken bones, lacerations, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries or other issues, a lawsuit can be essential to being compensated for all that was lost.

In this boat accident, numerous people were hurt when an airboat hit an object and crashed. It is said that the accident was because of mechanical error, but that is secondary to the injuries the people suffered. A legal professional can sift through the information and determine how the accident happened and decide on which party to seek compensation from. Those who were hurt should speak to an attorney as soon as possible.
