Family files wrongful death case after crash with tennis star

No one in Florida is immune to being in an accident. It can happen to anyone regardless of their social standing, occupation, income and lifestyle. When there is a car crash, injuries, fatalities and the aftermath will affect everyone. Regardless of who it is, it is imperative that there be a full investigation into the circumstances and those who suffered loss of any kind have all the information necessary to consider a personal injury legal filing.

A car accident involving tennis star Venus Williams led to the death of a passenger in the other vehicle. Ms. Williams, 37, was blamed for the crash in a police report. The other vehicle, a 2016 Hyundai Accent, was heading through an intersection when Ms. Williams' 2010 Toyota Sequoia cut in front of it. The driver of the Hyundai said that she was in the right lane slowing for a traffic signal. The light turned green and the accident happened. Ms. Williams said she did not see the other vehicle. She was blamed for violating the right of way of the other Hyundai.

The passenger, a 78-year-old man, had internal bleeding, spinal cord injuries, internal organ damage, and his main arteries were severed. The driver, his 68-year-old wife, had a broken right wrist, hand and fingers and a shattered right arm. Her sternum was cracked. The male was hospitalized for two weeks before he died. Ms. Williams posted a condolence note on her social media page. The report says that she was at fault.

With car accidents, those who were injured or lost a loved one must remember their rights. An accident can lead to lost wages, medical expenses, extensive treatment, the need for long-term care and more. With a fatality, the family must deal with the emotional, personal and financial ramifications. An important factor in this case is that the report already states that Ms. Williams was responsible. With the circumstances of this accident and the fatality and injuries that came along with it, the family is seeking compensation in a legal filing. Those who have had car accidents and a wrongful death should do the same.
