Separate car accidents lead to death of Florida trooper

Florida law enforcement officers are aware of how dangerous the job can be when they decide to take it. Much of the danger they face is generally considered to be due to chasing criminals and making arrests. However, they are also vulnerable when they are helping people and an accident happens. With any job in which a person is placed in danger, there is always the chance that an accident will occur. Those who have been affected by this and lost a loved one need to bear in mind the steps to take in filing a personal injury lawsuit.

A Florida Highway Patrol master sergeant died when a car crash occurred as he was helping another person and he was hit. The accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. The officer, age 52, was in the emergency lane assisting on a prior accident when two vehicles crashed. After being hit, the officer was taken to the hospital where he died. The officer had been on the job for three decades. In addition, he had served in the U.S. Army. He was newly married. Charges are pending in the crash.

Regardless of the job a person does, there is always a chance that an accident can occur. Car accidents, workplace accidents, pedestrian accidents -- they happen without warning. When it is a law enforcement officer, there might be a greater sense of preparedness on the part of the family, but that does not diminish the reality they will face in the aftermath. There will be funeral costs, the loss of companionship, various expenses and more. Often, the only way to get adequate compensation is through a legal filing.

In this case, a veteran state trooper was assisting people who had been in a car crash when another crash resulted in him being hit and suffering injuries that led to his death. In complex cases like this, those left behind may want to discuss a legal filing with a lawyer to pursue compensation.
