Danger of boating accidents shown as young woman dies in crash

Boating is a leisurely and enjoyable activity for both Florida residents and tourists seeking to enjoy all the state offers. While the bulk of these trips are completed without incident and everyone returns home safely, there are times when circumstances or behaviors lead to boating accidents. Whether there are injuries or death from boating incidents, there are many issues that will arise in its aftermath that may give rise to a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.

An airboat ride ended up killing a 22-year-old graduate of the University of Miami. The young woman had majored in theater and graduated from college the day before. She and her family were on an airboat when the crash happened. It occurred at approximately noon. She and four other people were thrown from the boat when it crashed. After the accident, she was taken to the hospital where she died. Also on the boat were her parents and her 20-year-old sister. Her sister suffered minor injuries. Her parents were not injured. A former airboat captain was also on the boat.

Florida is famous for its water activities, but with that comes an inherent danger that an accident will happen. Much like a car, a boat accident can cause injuries and death. This can be due to other boaters or the operator of the boat upon which the injured person or the person who was killed was riding on. Alcohol or drugs might have been involved. Recklessness or simple incompetence could have led to the accident. Those who have been affected by a boat accident should be cognizant of their rights to seek compensation just as they have that right if there is a car crash.

In this incident, a young woman who had just graduated from college and was about to start her post-graduate life was killed on a boat outing with her family. The accident and its cause are still being sorted out, but individuals in accidents like these may want to make sure they protect themselves and think about litigation with assistance from a legal professional.
