Contract disputes: is my business contract enforceable?

Many times, business professionals enter into contracts specifying a variety of business conditions. Once the contract is signed, the parties are generally required to adhere to the terms of the contract. If there is a business law dispute between the parties, the court will step in and help determine the enforceability of the contract. Contracts are a significant part of business law, so it is important to understand what they are and what makes them enforceable.

Foreclosure rates in Florida on the decline

When a family falls behind on their mortgage payment, they fear that they may lose their home through foreclosure. Unfortunately, foreclosure has become a reality for many Florida families. In the 12 months leading up to November 2016, Florida had the highest number of completed foreclosures in the U.S. with just fewer than 49,000, or 12 percent of the U.S. total. Real estate law attorneys can suggest alternatives to foreclosure, but that is not always an option.

How can I recover damages after a Florida car accident?

If you have been a car accident involving a negligent driver, you may be entitled to receive compensation for your injuries. Personal injury lawsuits can result in significant financial recovery. Florida is a No-Fault insurance state meaning that your insurance company will provide you with PIP benefits to cover medical expenses and lost wages regardless of who was at fault for the crash. All Florida drivers are required to have at least $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection coverage, as well as $10,000 in Property Damage Liability.

New legislation fights to eliminate red-light cameras in Florida

Red-light cameras have often been used in Florida in an attempt to reduce the number of car accidents in the state. However, a recent report from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles shows red-light cameras may not be very effective. The survey used crash data from July 2012 to April 2016 for 148 intersections all across the state.

What are the possible legal remedies for a breach of contract?

When a person or company enters in to a business contract with another person or company, each side is expected to hold up their end of the bargain. Failure to uphold your end is a breach of contract. In business law, a breach of contract can occur in many forms. For example, a breach of contract can occur when a party fails to perform their duties in a timely fashion or does not perform at all.

Filing a personal injury claim against negligent parties

Every day, Fort Lauderdale residents are involved in life-altering accidents. Car accidents, slip-and-falls, and boating accidents are just some of the personal injury accidents that occur on a daily basis. A large number of these accidents are not the fault of the victim but are caused by a negligent third party. These negligent parties should be held accountable for their actions. One way to make sure they are held accountable is to file a personal injury suit against any and all negligent parties.
