As many fans of Tracy Morgan in Florida know, the comedian was involved in a very serious accident in June. The vehicle in which he was riding with several others was rear-ended by a semi-truck driver for Wal-Mart. One person in the vehicle died and Morgan suffered multiple broken bones and brain damage as a result of the accident.
Morgan has since started a lawsuit against Wal-Mart for compensation. The parties were in court recently for a scheduling conference. Morgan's attorney stated that the comedian is still recovering from the traumatic brain injury he suffered. He stated that he is getting better, but the recovery will take a long time and at this point it is unclear whether he will ever fully recover from the injury.
Unfortunately, many people in Florida have suffered from serious brain injuries like Morgan's. These injuries can take a very long time to recover from depending on the severity of the injury. That generally means that there will be many medical expenses along the way and the victim may not be able to work for an extended period of time. This can be financially devastating in addition to the physical suffering the victim has to endure.
If the brain injury is caused by another's negligence, then the victim may be entitled to compensation for the injuries. The compensation could cover medical bills, rehabilitation costs, lost wages and pain and suffering. Such accident compensation can be essential for the victim and their family, especially if the victim was the primary wage earner for the family.
Residents of Florida suffer severe brain injuries every year. These individuals may be entitled to compensation, though. Experienced attorneys understand the devastating effect of brain injuries and may be able to guide one through the process of obtaining compensation.
